Holy Hiatus.

I have been consumed by my busiest week at work, housesitting, decorating my new place (in my head) and watching country music videos on AFN. It's all videos, all the time.

My thought for the day consists around having a real good dream. When the dream involves unrealistic or unlikely scenarios - what are you supposed to do when you wake up and realize...that didn't just happen. Do you value or resent that dream? Personally, I'm irritated.

However. I will most likely be turning in early this evening.

The Wish that I'm Wishing for Your Life

I watch this video over and over. I watch it to get to the part in the song when Kristian starts to sing-where he says, "...the wish that I'm wishing for your life/for your life the most." I love it because he sings it with an authenticity that gives me goosebumps.

Ending with a quote - don't know where all this love-goo is coming from. Just a big dumb sap today.

"To love and be loved is to feel the sun on both sides."- David Viscott.

P.S. In case you can't currently feel the sun on both sides...try wrapping up in one of these bad boys...

It's a blanket WITH case you are cold and lonely.

Or need to try out for an Easter play.

A Woman of Few Words...

...not a phrase that will be engraved on my headstone.

I'm a concept girl. Execution and method and detail often escape me. In order to get to the end result, sometimes it takes me a few failed or muddy attempts. Try having a face to face conversation with me. Ask me a question, I dare you. You'll need a compass, a map, an interpreter, an uncanny ability to read non-sign language sign language and about fifteen to twenty minutes to find a straight answer. It's a disease.

One Way Ticket. Yea.

The Wu and I traveled to 2C today and listened to our friends, The Beatles. It bums me out to think that some of their song writing was aided by drug use. Not the fact that they used drugs but that their lyrics couldn't just be crazy on their own. Written out of a crazy dream or something. Not judging - just a little bone I have to pick with the boys.

However - whatever Paul used in his younger days certainly has kept him peppy - his vocal chords, at least. His performance at the Grammy awards was just...cute.

Anyway. Night number too looks promising. I kept the boogie man at bay last night - I intend to continue to give him the cold shoulder.

There's No Place Like Home

Night one of eight on the dogsitting job. They're great company, real sweet dogs. Night one is the night to identify all the sounds of a different place. The night when you go shooting out of the bedroom with your shoe to chase after...the thermostat. I'll be fine. It's a beautiful home in a very safe neighborhood. Just new and different.

Just in case she's figured out how to borrow the Producer's Mac and is checking in on her fur-mom's blog:

Dear Diva,

I miss you and hope you're not too worried as to my whereabouts. I'll be home to check on you tomorrow afternoon. Until then, eat slowly and stay the hell off my pillow. Hugs and kisses.

This little light of mine.

I was at Mom and Dad's place a couple weeks ago. She was messing around in the kitchen and I was knitting by a lamp in the family room. She threw something in the microwave and when she turned it on, my lamp went dim, the overhead light blinked and the television screen went fuzzy - it was one maxxed out little circuit.

About a month ago before our church service started, I was talking to a friend about why I am not working with the kids anymore. I told him, "I just need to unplug some things for a while." I'd realized that I was plugged into more than my share of opportunities and while I was making everything work, I was growing pretty dim.

I've stepped back from a few things over the last couple months. I'm beginning to think that it is much better to sincerely, lavishly and unreservedly enjoy doing maybe only one thing rather than half-heartedly participate in a few different things. My outlook has gotten brighter. It makes sense. An overwhelmed circuit barely has enough juice to run a lamp, let alone a television and a microwave. Start unplugging something once in a while and things will operate as they should. It's called being energy efficient.

Good Lord willin' and the creek don't rise...

...I'm goin' to Little Big Town tonight.

Just in case you're readin' this Jimi, Karen, Kimberly and Phillip, can I come with you when you leave? I just love you guys. You make such sweet music.

I'll be the one with the long brown hair and the grey and black t-shirt and black boots. I will also be singing louder than anyone else in the crowd to make sure you know it's me.

Happy President's Day, Sugar!

I have fallen love with random, nearly forgotten holidays. Mostly the ones that are recognized by the firm as a day off! As of late they have consisted of anything from day trips to the mountains to all day lounge sessions at a local SB.

Today the Stylist and the Wu took me to breakfast to continue the celebration of my twenty-fourth birthday. Crispy bacon and sassy friends - good combination.

Now the Executioner and I are hammering out our own rendition of Journey's Don't Stop Believin. While I wish you had the privilege of sitting in our living room right now - take a gander at a video from the original artists and imagine the possibilities.

Happy Valentine's Day, Sugar!

I went to the grocery store last night for my mom. Anyone that knows me well knows that I really dislike going to the grocery store. Add to this fact that it was five-ish and everyone was getting off of work and FRANTICALLY diving through the Valentine's Day aisles to find that perfect love-trinket.

Really. Nothing says "I want to spend the rest of my life with you" more than the tiny gorilla that lip synchs to "Achy Breaky Heart"...(Isn't that a break up song? YES). But if you really, REALLY love someone, say it with the freakishly large white teddy bear with the big red heart sewn between his jumbo paws.

When words and spontaneous, non-holiday generated thought just aren't enough.

"Now I...had the time of my li-i-ife."

It's one of those days where I take stock of what I actually have and what I am involved with and my conclusion: I'm happy.

On a totally morbid, less happy note - equally as's what we're putting on my tombstone:

"To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of leave the world a better know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

Maybe just the program for the service, but what I am trying to say is that I would like Emerson's description of success to be a part of my footprint on this big rock.

Go get it!

I can't wait to look backwards on this year if I accomplish all the things I have set out to do.

I did it again.

It's my birthday month and I'm spending money like I have it - I need to have my hand slapped or have a visit from my favorite Dave Ramsey enthusiast.

The thing is - I had a mystery credit on for $21.73.

And I have located something I knew I had to have since the moment I knew it existed. And it was only $26.57 - combined with the fact that I miraculously qualified for super saver shipping...$4.84.

The second bible I have purchased this month...but LOOK at it. It is a journaling bible - basically a Moleskine notebook and a bible mixed together. The only conflict I am running into is which one to use? I cannot wait for this thing to get here.

There isn't anything quite like it.

That's right, folks. Freshly vacuumed carpet - not much else can hold a candle to the way I feel about vacuum lines. Can I get a witness?

I have vacuumed just my room three times in the last week. I was late to work this morning (this time) because I was vacuuming instead of showering when I was supposed to.

Something about carpet with the fresh trail from the vacuum just makes me want to kick off my shoes, rip off my socks and walk in figure eights. Quirky? Maybe, but it's the simple things in life that make it worth living.
And shoot.

If I'm this easy to please, someone ought to snatch me right up.

Might get wild, I know...

...but I could use a little adventure today. Maybe tomorrow, tomorrow would be fine.

Is it such a CRIME?

Can't a girl just own a cat without people saying things like this?

Thump this.

I'm about to post the most boring blog you will ever read in your life. HOWEVER - were you me and had you purchased a brand new NLT Life Application Study Bible - you would blog about it too.

I've been reading out of a Greek/Hebrew study bible for the last couple years (five to be exact) and I was ready for something different. So...Saturday rolls around, I'm out with the Wu. We hit up Barnes and Noble and low and behold - a personal leather...New Living Translation (which is new for me - and I'm pretty pumped, there are exclamation points in there...!) study bible complete with commentary, character profiles and maps.

Nothing spices up your bible reading like a new bible.

"Cool story, bible thumper!"

Also, my cat, THE DIVA, was in her very first commercial - and with prime billing during the Superbowl...
